The saiva vellala meeting at Savana Garden was convened at 4.30 pm on 04-09-2011. The secretary Mr.Ramamurthy welcomed the audience after Prayer by Sulochana Sowbhagya and Mr.Saravanan's son (name ?).
Mr.K.L.S.Natarajan, the Vice President Proposed a homage in silence in memory of Mrs.Alwaramma who passed away recently.
After the homage there was a formal opening of the portrait of our great leader V.O.Chidambaram Pillai - Kappalottiya Thamizhan, Chekkilutha Chemmal.There was a speech competition. Master Anoop alias Thiruchitrambalam spoke on V.O.C. and briefed the biography of V.O.C. Two more children spoke on V.O.C.
The youngsters conducted two games : i) Garlanding the cones ii) Aim and Throw Arrows
People, the old and the young took part in the game enthusiastically and there was some physical activity !!
After the games there was a powerpoint presentation on Indian freedom fighters presented by the president Dr.V.Kasiviswanathan M.S. It was an interactive programme, probably because the president did not know the complete details of the personalities whose photographs were flashed on the screen. Many members took part in the programme and enlightened on the part played by the great leaders. Many interesting anecdotes were narrated by them.
