Definition
The Cranium - part that contains brain
Facial skeleton - bones of the face
The only movable bone of the skull is the mandible
The skull is a part of the axial skeleton
Many bones of the cranium and facial skeleton are paired - left and a right
The bones which cross the mid-sagittal plane, are unpaired.
The Individual Bones
The inner ear (i.e., the Malleus, Incus, and Stapes), as well as the individual teeth are not addressed.
