Is the part that is next to the stomach at pyloric sphincter
Extends upto the ileocaecal valve at the junction of the ileum and the Caecum

The parts
Duodenum : 25 cm
Shape C ; around the head of pancreas.
At mid point : of the "C" opening of the pancreaticobiliary duct guarded by sphincter of Oddi.
Jejunum : middle part of small intestine.
2 metres
Ileum : 3 metres
Ends at the ileocaecal junction ; guarded by ileocaecal valve.
Structure
walls - four layers - mucosa, submucosa, circular muscle, longitudinal muscle, peritoneum (adventitia)
